Bicycle route network Westhoek
You can plan your own cycling tour when you use the map with marked signposts. It’s called ‘knooppunten’ .These handy maps will take you along the most pleasant routes in our municipality and the Westhoek.
The Peace Route confronts you with the story of the First World War. The route follows the Ypres Salient in a landscape full of cemeteries and war relics.
The poison gas route was developed in memory of the first large-scale gas attack on April 22, 1915 between Bikschote and Poelkapelle. The route is equipped with 8 audio pillars and brings you testimonies of that gas attack. The route is 41 km long and starts at the town hall of Langemark-Poelkapelle.
