Madonna statue (Madonna)

In the centre of Madonna you will find the Madonna statue. The Madonna statue was inaugurated on the 8th of December 1957. There was a lot of commotion in the village when the statue had to move to the roundabout after infrastructure works. In 1957, a lot of secret messages were placed by the civilians in the Statue. They were afraid their secrets would come out. The sculpture was the inspiration for the 2011 film 'The Pig of Madonna' by Frank Van Passel.
